Love with Food ~ Fun on the Boardwalk ~ July 2013

If you are new to Love with Food, please see this post.

The theme of this months Love with Food box is Fun on the Boardwalk.

Surrounded by ferris wheels, food stands and shouts of joy, the boardwalk brings you classic sights, smells, and sounds of summer.

I was so relieved that there was no seaweed in my box this month! Between last months box, and my box from The Jungle Stand, I sampled enough seaweed to last me a lifetime! What makes these companies think people like seaweed? Yuck!

Overall, I was pleased with what Love with Food sent out subscribers this month! Here is what I received

Rebel Mary Peanuts from Lord Nut Levington in Spicy Bloody Mary ~ 1 oz. ~ Sample Value $.68

These are so delicious! And, I do not like Bloody Marys! They had a spicy tomato flavor, but completely different than a Mexican spicy tomato flavor. More like a spicy tomato horseradish flavor, even though horseradish is not one of the ingredients.

These peanuts come in other amazing sounding flavors! We received a $.50 off coupon, so I'll definitely be looking for other varieties! Hopefully, Love with Food will have these on sale in their online shop soon!

Twangerz Snack Topping for Fruit, Veggies, Chips, Popcorn, etc. ~ 4 grams ~ Sample Value $.80
I'll probably pass on the pickle salt, because I don't care for dill pickles, but I plan on trying the other flavors.

Angel Mint All Natural Orange Salt Water Taffy ~ .4 oz. ~ Sample Value $.18

One for me, and one for my daughter Ellie!

Necco The Original Candy Wafer ~ .5 oz. ~ Sample Value $.24

This went straight into my daughter's "caught being good" treasure box. Aren't these basically conversation hearts in wafer form?

BBQ Beef Stick from Vermont Smoke and Cure ~ .5 oz. ~ Sample Value $.62
I gave this to my husband and he liked it. Two thumbs up!

Kukuruza Hawaiian Salted Caramel Popcorn ~ 1.8 oz including bag ~ Sample Value $ not sure, since website lists prices related to purchasing a gallon or more.

Made with Pink Sea Salt.

Nature's Bakery Strawberry Fig Bar ~ 2 oz. ~ Sample Value $.99

This was yummy for a "healthy" cereal bar.

Uncle Henry's Handmade Sourdough Pretzel ~ 1.25 oz. ~ Sample Value $.37

Oh boy... without the popcorn included, I calculate this box's contents to be worth $3.88?!? I seriously doubt the popcorn sample is worth $8.12, so the value of this box is WAY less than $12.00.

I really hope Love with Food steps up their game next month! While I liked what they included, they definitely could have added larger quantities, so the box equaled at least $12.00.

We'll see what they send us next month!

I was scrolling through the post thinking 'these are great items for Fun on the Boardwalk' (salt water taffys!) when I got to the end. Four bucks worth of food? Not even half of what you would have paid in the grocery store. Ouch. That's not love.

I completely agree Karen. What's up with that, lol! This is only my second box with Love with Food, so I'm hoping things get better in the future. I got a one year sub for Mother's Day, so I'm in for the long haul!

Love your blog, btw. I was reading your Birchbox post yesterday, but logging into Wordpress was giving me issues! I wrote a comment, but it got "lost" after my logging in issues. I'll stop by again soon!
